This policy explains what information this website collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It is posted to comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA) and applies to installmentsalecalculator.com and thewaterfallstrategy.com.
Who runs this site
This site is operated by Hans Goldstein ("we," "us"), who publishes tax education as Hans Goldstein: Tax & Exit Planning, 1401 21st St, Ste R, Sacramento, CA 95811. What we collect
- Information you give us in a form, email, call or text. Depending on the form: your name, email address, phone number, when you plan to sell, your profession and firm, and anything you write in a message.
- Calculator numbers, only if you choose to send them. The calculator runs entirely in your browser, and the numbers you type stay there. If you submit the contact form with the "include the numbers" box checked, we receive your calculator inputs (such as sale price, basis, depreciation, loan payoff, state, filing status, income, term and rates) and summary results, together with your contact information.
- Server logs. Our web host automatically records standard request data, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the date and time.
- Cookieless, aggregate site analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and measure page performance. It does not set cookies, does not use local storage, and does not fingerprint or track you across websites; it reports only aggregate figures such as page views, referring sites, country and page load times.
- No advertising cookies. This site does not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels or tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To respond to you and send the information or materials you asked for.
- To follow up with you about your request by email, phone or text, as you agreed when you submitted the form. Hans Goldstein, a licensed insurance agent (CA Insurance License #4273294), may discuss insurance products, including annuities.
- To keep the site working and secure.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with:
- Service providers that operate our systems for us: form processing, email, phone and text messaging, CRM and scheduling, website hosting and aggregate site analytics. They may use it only to provide their services to us.
- Your own advisers, such as your CPA or attorney, when you ask us to.
- An insurance company, only if you choose to apply for a policy. The insurer will give you its own privacy notice.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
Text messages (SMS)
If you give us your mobile number and agree to be contacted, message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. Consent to texts is not a condition of any purchase. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Do Not Track and other sites
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because this site does not track you across other websites, it operates the same way whether or not the signal is sent. Third parties do not collect personal information about your activity on this site over time or across other websites. Links to other sites are governed by those sites' own policies.
Your choices: access, correction, deletion and opt-out
- To see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to keep some records where the law requires it, for example records of insurance transactions.
- To stop emails, use the unsubscribe link in any email or email us.
- To stop texts, reply STOP to any text.
- To stop calls, tell us on the call or email us.
How long we keep it and how we protect it
We keep contact information for as long as needed to respond to you and follow up, and longer only where the law requires it. We use reasonable safeguards, but no system is perfectly secure.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date above. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will also notify you by email where we have your address.
